Kurokawa onsen festival 2017 October 7th and 8th

This year Kurokawa onsen festival will be held as usual on October 7th and 8th

It’s the biggest event on the calendar so please come and join the fun!

The main stage is located in the Visitor Center car park.

Day 1 October 7th(sat)

15:00 bazar opens

16:00 children’s lucky draw

17:00 Rock’n Roll Band

18:00 Official opening

18:15 Brass band

19:00 live music by K-ON

19:45 Festival events for everyone!

20:30 Kagura Dacing

21:30 Yamanami Taiko Drams

21:50 Free mochi rice cakes (if you catch them)

22:00 Lucky prize drow

22:50 Fire works

Please park at the overflow car park on route 442 just after that tunnel.

A shuttle bus is available from 15:00 to late at night.

Day 2 October 8th (sun)

The parade follows a route across from the COSMOS gas station along Kawabatadori to the police station

FREE bathing at Kurokawa Onsen on June 26th! (Outdoor bath Festival)

Once a year, on June 26th, you can bathe in the public outdoor hot spring bath at any of the 25 ryokan belonging to the Kurokawaonsen Ryokan Association for free!

Schedule is as follows:

Date: June 26th(Monday)

Time: 10:00 am ~ 3:00 pm

Don’t forget to pop into the reception of the ryokan first before heading off to use the baths!

RIVERSIDE POP-UP BAR until 3/20

Why not enjoy a drink and small snack while viewing the bamboo illuminations from our riverside ‘POP-UP’ BAR?
PLACE:Riverside (opposite OKYAKUYA Ryokan)
TIME: 7:30pm~9:30pm every evening
DATE: 2/25 until 3/20

We offer hot drinks, sake and light snacks.

A choice of two routes,(A or B) followed by a packed lunch outdoors surrounded by fresh spring greenery !

Date : Sunday May 29th 2016

Starting point : Car park(P1) opposite Nisimura Ryokan.

Meet up time : course A 10:30 a.m. for 11:00 a.m. start

course B 9:30 a.m. for 10:00 a.m.start

Fee : adults 1000 yen children 500 yen (includes a packed lunch and free entrance to one outdoor bath)

Route details :

Route A (Hitotsuyanobori & Seiryunomori) suitable for children and beginners.

Meet at 10:30 am. for 11:00 a.m. departure. Arrive at Shinsuikoen in time to get your packed lunch approx. 1:00 p.m.

(Please note this route is not suitable for pushchairs )

Route B (Seiryunomori special route) A challenging route with some steep sections.

Meet at 9:30 a.m. for 10:00 a.m. departure. Arrive at Shinsuikoen in time to get your packed lunch approx. 1:00 p.m.

After lunch there are some fun activities such as an Onsen hopping pass tossing competition.

The event finishes around 2 p.m. and all participants are free to return to central Kurokawa at there own pace and try out an outdoor bath etc.

Places may be limited so it best to contact the Kurokawaonsen Visitor Center and book a place

Rice Festival on Sunday, the 1st of November, 2015

You can eat newly-harvested rice, and various side dishes.

Participants will receive a present of a rice bowl, a wooden tray and asmall bag of locally harvested rice.

Events include rice pounding (mochitsuki), making onigiri riceballs, popping rice, quizzes and more!

Date: On Sunday, the 1st November, 2015

Place:Rice Paddy, (approx. 5 minutes from Kurokawa by car) please see map.

Every year there is a big event in Kurokawa in October “Kurokawaonsen Kanshyasai”

We can’t drive a car in Kurokawaonsen area during the parade in samurai costume. (18:00~20:20)
In the event of rain the parade will be cancelled.

Yukata Photo Contest at Kurokawa Onsen

If you are staying in Kurokawa Onsen or you rent a Yukata at Kurokawa Onsen Bechin-kan between August 1st and September 30th, you can enter the Yukata photo contest.

Frst, you should take your photo wearing the Yukata.

After that, please send E-mail to “event@kurokawaonsen.or.jp” with the photo.

You should choose from the family category, couple category and friend category.

There are three special prize in each category.

The special prize is a pair of accommodation coupon.

And there are another ten lucky prize that are 5000 yen of shopping vouchers!

A choice of two routes, followed by a country-style buffet lunch out doors surrounded by beautiful autumn foliage!

Date : Sunday October 26th 2014

Starting point : Temporary car park opposite COSMOS gas stand.

Starting time : 9:30 a.m.

Fee : adults 1000 yen children 500 yen (includes lunch and outdoor bath token)

Route details :

Route A (Warabinobori & Seiryunomori) suitable for children and beginners.

Meet at 10:30 am. for 11:00 a.m. departure. Arrive at Shinsuikoen in time for 1:00 p.m. lunch.

Route B (Seiryunomori hard route) A challenging route with some steep sections.

Meet at 9:30 a.m. for 10:00 a.m. departure. Arrive at Shinsuikoen in time for 1:00 p.m.for lunch.
